Tuscany Family Retreat Adventure with Camping

Tuscany Family Retreat Adventure with Camping

This Tuscany family camping holiday is a fabulous, fun, retreat – an ideal time for you to escape with your kids, get away from the desk and the washing up, and find a warm and sunny space to truly connect and have some fun and adventure with each other.

Kids are not kids forever, so this is all about bringing some magic to your holiday and an experience for your family. There will be wild play adventure, family yoga, medieval festival night, traditional Tuscan cooking, wild swimming, gorge trekking, dough animal making, ‘positivity rocks’ crafting, story-telling, games and the ultimate talent show!

Camping Musetti Angela is within a stunning setting, perched on the mountains in a village called Grondola. This is a retreat meaning the campsite is away from it all and it is, there’s no shop or amenities within a few miles, which is why this retreat is fully catered and transport is included for your ease.

It really is a beautiful environment full of natural beauty. There are mountains and forests around; the views are lovely. The campsite is exceptional. The family have loved and maintained it wonderfully and it has something for everyone; tennis court with bats and balls, basketball hoop with ball, football pitch, forest adventure play area, children’s climbing frame, a trim trail for fitness lovers, warm large clean showers, washing machines, outside and inside dining areas and a fully equipped clean Kitchen to use if you wish.

Camping Musetti Angela is around a 20-minute car journey from Pontremoli; Pontremoli is an easy 1-hour train journey from Pisa. Pisa is a great economical airport to fly to, you can book flights easily through easyJet or Ryanair.

Tuscany retreat

4pm 19th August 2019 to 10am 23rd August 2019

“My girls and I went to the family retreat in Tuscany last year. It was amazing, no gadgets, WiFi or television, just at one with nature, if you ask my girls the best holiday they ever had and this is the top of their list” – Sarah Jayne Lee

What Else Will We Do?

You will probably be more than happy to hang out at the campsite with the kids freely playing and you reading a book! But there will be some organised activities too. We plan to paint some positivity rocks, have a tennis tournament, take a beautiful hike, have a demonstration of traditional Testaroli cooking, enjoy storytelling and we will do some yoga, this yoga will be fun family yoga and relaxation yoga for mums and dads – join in when you want to. Family yoga is a great fun way of sharing a sense of adventure, exploration and fun together. Please be aware that the yoga will be outdoors with no sun shelter, so it will be before 10am and after 5pm.

You can also choose to come to the Stretti di Giaredo gorge. An incredible natural wonder. Children over the age of 8 should have no problem walking the Gorge, but you can bring smaller children depending on your confidence and what they enjoy. You could bring a rubber ring or armbands and maybe some rubber sea shoes. You could bring a wetsuit if you like, it’s cold water! If you want to come but don’t want to walk in the gorge waters you can stay and play by the pool. We will provide a packed lunch this day. The price for this is extra at around 25€ per person at the time of writing. It is beautiful and an adventure never to forget. If it’s not for you there is a swimming pool relatively nearby we could take you to instead for a minimal price.

Festival Time!

It is festival time over the weekend of the 22nd to the 25th August with Pontremoli hosting the largest medieval festival in Italy, it is quite a spectacle with the whole town dressing its walls with cloth, the locals in medieval dress, public medieval displays, fire shows, parades, archery – it’s a real event.  It would be great to get involved and wear fancy dress, so pop something suitable in your case. Be aware we will be eating out in the town this night, and the price is not included in the total.

Price per Retreat

£315 per adult – early bird booking
£135 per child to 16 years – early bird booking
All families are invited, and this is also an ideal break if you are a mum or dad wanting to take your children away for an amazing experience as a single parent, or simply if your partner is at work, we are here to make everything easy for you!

What Will the Food Be Like?

In Italian style, an amazing breakfast, then pizza, pasta, and lots of fresh Italian bread, oils, fruit and veg! Usually, all the stuff that kids really like. This is not a vegetarian or vegan retreat, we can accommodate vegetarians, but vegans will need to self-cater.
I am sorry we cannot cater for different diets or individual needs due to logistics really, but there is a kitchen and we can help by taking you to the supermarket if needed.

We Recommend…

Spending a couple of days before or after in Pisa, it really is a beautiful place! And that Tower is pretty special!
Any questions please ask. Fundamentally, your kids holiday is my kids holiday, so I want it to be the BEST it can be!

Please note: The retreat is a no screen zone; the idea is to connect with each other. Do feel free of course to take photos – it’s one of my most creative and favourite things to do – and even post them so loved ones can see what you are up to, but maybe see this as a lovely project between you and treat it as a mindful action.
