Totally Tropical Thailand Yoga Holiday

If You Love Yoga, Sunshine and Beaches, You'll Love This...

We’re getting ready for the ULTIMATE Tropical Yoga Holiday.

Thailand and yoga. Immersed in bright sunshine, lush rainforest and beach surroundings. Appreciate the wonders of Thailand’s natural beauty and in doing so discover the beauty of your own inner space. This is the is the ultimate beach yoga holiday – one you will never forget and suitable for ALL. Let host, Jackie Heffer-Cooke show you around the Thailand she knows and loves.

Why Thailand?

Thailand is known as ‘The land of smiles’, not only because visitors love its natural beauty and historical riches, but also because of the country’s friendly people and fascinating culture.

Immersed in lush rainforest and beach surroundings Koh Lanta is the perfect blend of Thai natural beauty. The beach is sublime, 2 km long, with a scattering of authentic beach restaurants and bars where you can relax and watch the sunset across the sea, Thai longtails silhouetted on the horizon.

Yoga host Jackie and her family have been visiting Koh Lanta for 16 years, and have made many local friends along the way. The people of Koh Lanta need tourism economically to help keep their families, and they are very aware of the environmental issues surrounding their country. In Koh Lanta you will not find any high-rise hotels, or any plastic sunloungers on the beach, the 2 mile long beach is kept a wide natural space to be enjoyed by those seeking a more peaceful alternative to the noisier more crowded areas of Thailand. The restaurants on Koh Lanta beach are authentic, casual establishments, where it is totally acceptable to roam barefoot so you can meander your way home after your meal along the edge of the sea under the stars.

The Yoga

The Retreat takes place at Lanta Yoga, a beautiful yoga studio and platform, tranquil, private and surrounded by lush rain-forest. The Yoga is a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa, with a splash of sunset Yin. There will be two yoga sessions a day suitable for all levels of yogis, including beginners, and more powerful sessions for those with a deeper practise wanting to advance their practice. This is a retreat, so the yoga practices will be exploring all aspects of yoga from the 8 limbs, but the teachings are approachable, inclusive and translated into ideas for modern daily living.

The yoga will be based around the exploration of the Koshas, as it’s so easy to slip deeper into our practise to the sound of nature’s sunset chorus of wildlife on a yoga shala set on the edge of the rainforest.

If you simply want to come for a beginner’s practise and have a holiday, then you are most welcome too, this in itself will be enough to have an experience of a lifetime. This yoga holiday is suitable for ALL, regardless of yoga experience. Come with your mum, your husband, or your best friend! We’d love to have you all.

The Experience

If you have always wanted to travel East, your teacher and host Jackie Heffer-Cooke is here to guide you towards your experience of a lifetime. And in doing so she will teach you all about two things which make her life more happy, peaceful and complete – Yoga and Koh Lanta.

Added Extras Include:

There is an optional snorkelling trip to local islands to watch tropical fish in their natural environment, and this area is now under national protection so these snokelling trips are ‘visitor aware’. The sea is clear and warm, and the fish an overwhelming blissful display of colour.

There will also be an optional visit to Koh Lanta Old Town, where you can shop local produce from the market, eat the freshest Thai food on the stilt restaurants over the sea, and we will visit an authentic Thai Temple.

Feel free to support the local women who offer Thai Massage on wooden platforms on the beach. There is nothing quite like a massage at sunset watching the west facing horizon and it’s array of colour, a true moment of bliss.

Do a little more of what makes your soul happy – and book today.

In The Evening

You will be invited to join Jackie for an evening meal at one of the many restaurants along the two-mile-long Koh Lanta beach. These restaurants are basic, but again beautiful, and are actually located on the Pra-ae beach. Lying on a Thai cushion before or after eating is essential! Of course, you are very welcome to muse out for dinner on your own or with your friends, Jackie will point you towards her recommendations. Jackie has been visiting these restaurants for 14 years, in her opinion sitting at an informal Koh Lanta restaurant table, on a beach, with toes in the sand, whilst eating fresh barbecued fish, or lemongrass curry is the only way to eat.
